GAME 1 VS CHINESE TAIPEI

Our seniors unfortunately fell 3-1 to Taipei earlier today. In a very even game it was the capitalisation of a couple of mistakes that made all the difference. After dominating play for much of the 1st period Ireland found themselves 1-0 down at half-time, this was doubled early in the 2nd before Ireland pulled one back from Ross Jordan. Taipei then went 2 up again on the man advantage and were able to close the game out despite a lot of late pressure from Ireland.

We unfortunately lost Josh Pavis mid way through the game to injury; we wish him a speedy and good recovery.

After the game we caught up with rookie Yan Lhert and veteran Luke Campbell about prep, the game today and looking ahead to tomorrow.

MACAU

Placement at 2018 World Championships: did not attend

Results so far: 24-1 loss to Germany

Despite a bid defeat today to Germany today, Ireland can not underestimate Macau and must execute the game plan for 40 minutes to come out with the win and finish as highly as possible in the group.
