Trainings

Players selected to the team and squad are expected to attend as many practices as possible.

Costs
As inline hockey or roller sports are not yet recognised by Sport Ireland we currently receive no financial assistance from the government. This means that unfortunately selected players will be responsible for all travel & training costs.

The association is committed to financially assisting as much as possible, but we need to be economically sustainable. However, opportunities will be given for players and the team to organise fundraising events and source sponsorships to ensure this cost is kept to a minimum.

As an outline the European Championships (Under 16) in 2022 cost players €800. The estimated costs of World Championships varies greatly depending on host location.

Unable to Attend Trainings
Players unable to attend training due to living aboard or other reasonable reasons will still be considered for the squad.

We would encourage you to contact andrew.creane@inlinehockeyireland.org.

Spond is the application that you can install on your phone or access via internet browser. This is used by our national programmes for for quick communication, attendance tracking, collecting training payments and sharing all information.
Once you register your interest in joining the squad you will be sent an invite to the app.
