Age Cut-Offs
Players that are age eligible for multiple age categories are allowed to try-out for multiple teams.
2022 Events
The objective of the try-outs is to select a team of players and reserves to represent Ireland at International events in 2022.
Costs
As inline hockey or roller sports are not yet recognised by Sport Ireland we receive no financial assistance from the government. This means that unfortunately selected players will be responsible for all travel & training costs.
The association is committed to financially assisting as much as possible, but we need to be economically sustainable. However, we will organise fundraising events and source as many sponsors as possible to ensure this cost is kept to a minimum.
As an outline previous World Championships have costs players between €800-€1000.
Try-outs
Try-outs will be designed to test players basic skills, understandings and gameplay.
Ahead of the try-out day the coaching staff of each will hold a virtual brief on zoom to explain the try-out plan and what to expect.
Trainings
Players selected to the team and reserve lists are expected to attend all scheduled practices.
Training locations and dates will vary team-to-team based on team makeup and training needs. Appropriate notice will always be given to players.
Unable to Attend Try-outs
Player’s unable to make the trials will still have the opportunity to be selected, at the discretion of the coaching staff.
Such players must have a reasonable reasons for being unable to attend try-outs and will be evaluated in a way as determined by coaching staff.
