Following advice from our officiating adviser we are enforcing some equipment changes starting in the 2017-18 season.

Form the start of the 2017/18 season:

-There will be a total ban on ice hockey style shoulder pads/body armour. This applies to all levels from U10 right up to Elite. Inline hockey padded shirts (pictured above) are still OK and are recommended for junior players.

-For senior leagues all skaters must wear long inline hockey pants (cover trousers), with it being highly recommended for the junior age groups, with a view of enforcing it in the U18 league from the 2018/19 season. It is also is highly recommended that all players wear inline hockey style protective girdles rather than ice hockey style shorts. Please note that protective girdle/shorts are not a required piece of inline hockey skater equipment but is highly recommended by the committee that all skaters should wear a protective girdle.

Please also note we are currently in negotiations with custom inline pant manufacturers to enable Inline Hockey Ireland clubs to avail of discounts. We will forward all clubs details of this once negotiations are completed.

Thank you for your cooperation
