Junior Men Squad Announced

Today we can announce the team and development squad selected to represent Ireland at the World Skate Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina this October. We extend our congratulations to every single player.

A solid showing from Ireland in 2019 saw them place 17th with wins over China & India. However, with losing 2 years to Covid we see only 1 returning player from the 2019 squad. While we see a lot of new faces in the squad we are excited about the depth in talent produced from the 7 clubs represented (Armagh Stars, Ballymena Vandals, Bangor Chiefs, Cork Wolfpack, Flying Ducks, Kilkenny Storm & Midland Thunder). This young team will be eager to represent Ireland to the highest standard later this year and will continue their preparations over the coming weeks.

Coach, Victor O'Brien had this to say:

"After watching the guys playing in the leagues, it looks like the covid cobwebs are well blown away. We feel that we have a solid core to the squad but have a number of guys that are pushing hard and looking to take the last few spots.

What is most positive is that most of the squad are on the younger end meaning that we will have 2 seasons to develop, including those that are in the development part of the program, meaning that everyone is pushing hard and we have great prospects for the future."
