IHI Welcome's Updated Regulations for Junior Competition

IHI welcomes the announcement from the Irish government that games and competitions for Under 18 and now take place.

We are delighted that common sense has now prevailed in the issue surrounding junior competition and immunity status. The junior players in our sport are crucial to our organisations growth and development in the years to come. Junior players have missed out on any competition for 20 months now and we are excited to now be in a position to schedule junior fixtures for Under 13, Under 15 & Under 18 in the weeks ahead.

If your club has not yet confirmed entry into competitions we would urge you to make contact with the league management team ASAP to allow them to schedule accordingly.

The new guidelines mean the “pod of six” system can be adjusted to allow for junior games and competitions, however the “pod of six” remains in place for all other scenarios, such as training where there is a mixed immunity status.

We will issue a full update of the regulations in the days ahead.
